About Us
The affair started when I was 10 years old and it has lasted a lifetime. A sleek grey hunting machine, Lady was one of the first Weimaraners introduced into the state of Minnesota. In October of that year, each afternoon found her guiding me down the railroad tracks in search of a rooster pheasant or two. Her points, many decades later, are still etched in my mind, for they were spectacular, and with an abundance of birds, every once a while my hunting coat came home with a bird inside.
I’ve since come to understand that dogs, just as humans, are not all created equally. Each one has a different and unique personality. Our family dogs are of the retrieving kind, both labs and goldens. The puppy years allow for both giggles and new curse words, while the middle years are spent tromping around in the field or sitting in a duck blind, the later years allow for a warm fire and reflection on a life well spent.
Therein lies the real quandary , per Agnes Turnbull, “Dog’s Lives Are Too Short. Their Only Fault, Really”. We as dog owners understand regardless of breed and genetics, our dogs have become an integral part of our family and our best pals. It seems that in losing a dog we also lose a bit of our heart, but I try to remember, that when a new dog enters my life, they gift me with a piece of theirs.
Dogs are indeed “Magical Creatures with 4 Paws” and their love is unconditional. They have gifted us with memories that have enriched us and last a lifetime. DogsNHearts was created to capture those memories and allow you to memorialize and visibly celebrate the lives of these best pals.
The applications of a DogsNHeart frame are endless, for every single dog owner has these precious memories that can be captured beautifully and focused on a single quote that universally defines our love of a dog.
The affair continues, our current golden, “Kota” still looks at me with bemusement, as if she is trying to share a joke, but knows I won’t get it!
Best of Luck! And remember to say a special thanks and support to all the volunteers working in dog shelters and rescue centers.
